Cool Off in the Summer Heat

It’s almost that time of year where the temperatures rise and the sun shines brightly down on then QC. And what better way is there to welcome summer vacation than heading out to cool off in our local pools? Whether on the Illinois side or Iowa side, there’s a place for you, your friends and family to take a dip in the cool waters of summer, starting Memorial Day weekend.

White Water Junction – The jungle gym of Quad Cities waterparks, White Water Junction has been the favorite among kids, parents and teens since its opening in 2003. This summer should be no different. Join in the water park fun at the Rock Island swimming pool Monday through Friday 11 AM – 8 PM, and weekends from 10 AM – 6 PM. Daily admissions are as follows: 3 and older $8.00, 2 and under free with paid adult. You can see the other swimming packages here. Whitewater Junction

Splash Landing – Equipped with diving boards, water slides and water geysers, this Bettendorf water park is filled with fun for everyone from children to adults. Hours and prices are varied and can be found on the city website here.

Riverside Aquatic Center – This summer, spend some time relaxing at Riverside Aquatic Center. Forget your worries and lounge poolside! The aquatic center offers a zero depth entry, heated water, a lap pool, and a waterplayground. You can even swim here for $1 on Monday nights as part of the Family Credit Union Funday Monday promotion.  Check out all of the hours and details here.

Milan Spraygrounds – Got a toddler who isn’t quite ready for the pool? Or a kid who loves sprinklers versus deep waters? Look no further than the Milan Spraygrounds for this family fun. It can be more fun than the pool as you chase the kids through mountains of waterfalls and splash among ground sprinklers. The park at 315 4th Ave. E, Milan, is open 12-6 daily.

Annie Wittenmeyer Family Aquatic Center – Located in the heart of Davenport, this pool comes with a diving board, water slides, sand areas and more, all for $4-$5 dollars. Check out the local times you can come swim here on the City of Davenport website.

Fejervary Park & Aquatic Center – Iowa has the pool game down with another location in the city of Davenport. Check out what it has to offer over at the City of Davenport website here. The pool opens right after the Davenport Community School District’s final day.


DeWitt Aquatic Center — Small town charm is the name of the game with the DeWitt Aquatic Center. Only minutes away from the delicacy of a small town ice cream shop, and equipped with slides and includes lap times, pools, diving board, child-friendly play areas and so much more.
