There are plenty of places to go with Dad this weekend and treat him to a fun Father’s Day weekend!
Golf is always an option! During the Father’s Day Weekend, you can play 9 holes or a whole round at one of the area’s 50 golf courses. From a beginner to playing it like the pros, you’ll find a course that suites your style.
Take in a baseball game at the number one minor league ballpark in the country. The Quad Cities River Bandits in Davenport have games all weekend.
Learn about the roots of Davenport Iowa on the Historic Third Street Walking Tour starting at the German American Heritage Center on Saturday, June 18 at 10:30 a.m.
Visit an overnight encampment of fur trader re-enactors, called a Buckskinners’ Rendezvous, with pioneer portrayers demonstrating hatchet and knife throwing, and craft demonstrators such as wood-working, chair caning, spinning, basket weaving, pottery making, quilting, butter and ice cream making, rope making, and campfire cooking. It’s at the Colonel Davenport House on Saturday and Sunday.
Maybe a little wine is needed. Every year Creekside Vineyards‘ hidden valley is lit up on mid-June evenings with a host of fireflies. Join us for pizza, wine, music, & firefly viewing from 5-10 p.m. on Friday, June 17. You won’t want to miss this unbelievable natural light show. Or celebrate on Sunday with 1 hour of fun yoga @ noon followed by lunch and libations, a vineyard tour, and a gift for Dad.
Go on a bike ride during Ride the River on Sunday with the whole family using local riverfront bike trails. Enjoy a bi-state tour of the Quad Cities along riverfront bike trails. Ride 20 miles or 60 miles; you can loop back at several places on the route. Plus, cruise on the Mississippi River on the Celebration Belle Riverboat from Iowa to Illinois or ride across the historic Arsenal Bridge.
Area museums welcome visitors for a week-long adventure of fun activities, great discoveries, and exploration during Quad Cities Museum Week on June 18-26. This year, each museum has a mystery for you to help solve!
