Fresh, farm-grown food for the summer

Summer is the perfect start to healthy living. Warm weather and copious amounts of sunshine make it perfect to run, walk and bike the trails of the Quad Cities. It’s also perfect to get a jump start on that nutritious fresh farm food that is piled high at the Freight Farmer’s Market in Davenport, Iowa.

Whether Inchein’s tomatoes (which I’ll admit to spending a full $15 on a couple bags before because there is honestly nothing like these locally homegrown tomatoes), fresh farm corn, Georgia peaches, local meats or cheeses, there’s something for everyone to enjoy and get a jumpstart on their fresh, healthy summers.

So, head on down to the Farmer’s Market during the week to support local farmers, producers and growers.

The market is located at 421 W. River Drive in Davenport. Hours are as follows: Saturday from 8 A.M. to 1 P.M., Sunday from 10 A.M. to 2 P.M. and Tuesday from 3 P.M. to 6 P.M.
