Fall is the season of leaves, cooler temps, pumpkin spice, and Oktoberfests! There are a lot of different versions to this fun classic event in the Quad Cities.
Bring your dog to Dogtoberfest in LeClaire, Iowa, on Sunday, September 18, 2016. It’s fun party for furry friends outside of the Bier Stube, 1001 Canal Shore Drive in LeClaire. There are free doggy bags to the first 150 dogs. Raffle items, silent auction, and food and beverages available for purchase, and the proceeds go to support the Crow Creek Dog Park in Bettendorf. Free admission. Rain date is September 25.
It’s not called an Oktoberfest, but Brew Ha Ha on Saturday, September 17 offers you something new to savor and sip from 1-5 p.m. at LeClaire Park in downtown Davenport, Iowa. This event offers just about every type of beer, porter, ale, lager and more—so you can tour the American brewing landscape one ounce at a time. Cruise the Mississippi on the Oktoberfest cruise on Thursday, September 22 with Barefoot Becky & the Ivanhoe Dutchmen. They will have your toes tapping and the dance floor full! You can expect a mix of your favorite Oktoberfest polkas and waltzes and a mix of some party favorites. Even the crew joins in! This lunch cruise on the Celebration Belle riverboat departs at 10:30 a.m. from Moline, Illinois.
Ride your bicycle through the beautiful Iowa countryside during Ridetoberfest on Saturday, September 24. Choose one of two charted routes beginning and ending at Happy Joe’s Grille 350, 350 E. LeClaire Rd. in Eldridge, Iowa. Select the 50-mile ride beginning at 1 p.m., or the 20-mile route beginning at 2:30 p.m. Registration includes a light meal following with evening entertainment. A T-shirt will be provided for the first 50 registrants.
It’s an Oktoberfest of racing at the Cordova International Raceway on September 24-25. On Saturday, the races feature the Midwest Outlaw Racing Series and Big Bucks Bracket Bash. On Sunday, the races feature the 2016 Track Championship Runoff, Iron Man Bracket Race, and OMS.
The Bier Stube restaurant in Moline celebrates their Oktoberfest on September 30-October 1. They’ll celebrate with live music from Austria’s Lederhosen trio, food, drink, games, and prizes. Cap your Oktoberfest weekend with the Lederhosen 5K and Oktoberfest on Saturday, October 1 at Schwiebert Riverfront Park in downtown Rock Island, Illinois. You’re encouraged to dress up for the 5K run/walk at 9:30 a.m. in your best lederhosen or dirndl. Kids aren’t left out with their own half-mile fun run at 9:00 a.m. called the Kinderlauf. When you’re done, stay for the Oktoberfest Post-Race Party also open to the public until 3 p.m. There will be your favorite beverages, German food, games for adults and kids, music, and fun!
