Great Sounds Promotions brings you the Smooth Jazz Valentines Concert with guitarist Matt Marshak featuring saxophonist Jazmin Ghent.  It’s on Saturday, February 11 at the River Music Experience. Doors 7 pm; Performance 8 pm.  Marshak recently toured the world in support of his music as he was invited to play at some very prestigious events.  Jazmin’s CD was #32 according to Smooth Jazz Global radio’s top 50 Smooth Jazz CDs for 2015.

Take your sweetheart out for a night of hockey action with the Quad City Mallards on February 10-12 at the iWireless Center, 1201 River Dr. in Moline, Ill.  Friday night’s game has $2 hot dogs and beer.  On Saturday, young fans are encouraged to dress as their favorite animated princesses or pirates when attending the Mallards’ game. Take a guided moonlight walk during the full moon on Tuesday, February 14, at Black Hawk State Historic Site.  Walk along the park’s woodland trails beautifully lit with luminaries.  After your walk, return to the Watchtower Lodge to warm up by the roaring fireplaces, and enjoy light refreshments and live music.  Dress for the outdoors and bring a flashlight.  Begin at the Watchtower Lodge at 1510 46th Avenue in Rock Island, Illinois.  6:30-8:30 p.m.  No cost to attend for this event for singles, couples, and families.

The SPECTRA Reading Series, returns to Rozz Tox in Rock Island with an all local, all lovers open mic event on Wednesday, February 15 at 8 pm.  By lovers, we mean humans with any relationship to the idea/experience/emotion/harness that might be defined as “love”, even if that relationship is love/hate. Performers will be limited to no more than 5 minutes of stage time per performance.
