We are lucky enough to live right near Igor’s Bistro, a place to grab a bite (Halloweeny pun intended). Recently, my husband Luke and I along with our 9 month old son headed to Igor’s Bistro located at 3055 38th Street in Rock Island, Illinois, and were we glad we did!
What fun decorations! Igor’s is decked out in a spooky, Halloween theme for a fun twist on the usual staid restaurant items. From glowing skulls to friendly pumpkins this place puts on a show. We can’t wait to take our other boys (ages 8, 6, 3) – they will love it!
Cozy but comfortable is definitely a good description of Igor’s table arrangement. A bonus in the warmer months is the outside seating which likely doubles the number of available seats. The red umbrellas are a welcome sight. We dined indoors with our little guy and they had a highchair available which was definitely handy.
The menu is a clever mix of typical fare, unique options and delightful titles. From Igor’s Italian Beef (already a clear favorite) to The Goblin (a scrumptious looking brat) to Transylvania Pie (that I want to try next) to Vampire Bites (a tasty appetizer) customers will be entertained by the meal options. Our favorite section was Burgers and Sandwitches subtitled, “All witches served with choice of side: House-cut fries, jalapeno coleslaw, pasta salad, side salad, cup of soup or fresh fruit cup.”
From the Burgers and Sandwitches (ha ha) we decided to split two choices: The Gremlin and also The Ghost and Mr. Chicken (one sandwich). Oh my goodness. The Gremlin was SUPER good – just the right amount of spicy. Described as, “6 oz. of our fresh premium beef covered with caramelized jalapenos and onions, pepper jack cheese and pickled jalapenos. Dressed with smokey chipotle adobo mayo and fresh guacamole all on a grilled kaiser roll, it was juicy, flavorful and unique. While the Ghost and Mr. Chicken was pretty tasty, we both liked The Gremlin the best.
The final review
This charming restaurant is well worth your time. The unique decor, fun theme, and great food will soon have this place known as a local favorite. If you visit soon, you will have the chance to name the restaurant Gargoyle which isn’t something you’ll probably get to do ever again!
