There’s a new shop in Rock Island and it’s creating quite a splash. The owner, Christiana Headley, is a Quad City native and she opened Splash “to help you relax, rejuvenate and pamper yourself.” She has a great Facebook LIVE video describing why she is passionate about helping others take care of themselves.
Splash is filled with a mix of soaps, shower bombs, bath bombs, scrubs, candles, essential oils, and much more. I am here to tell you as a busy mom, the shower bombs are amazing! I don’t often have time for a bath, but I love the idea of soaking, rejuvenating, and refreshing myself – and now there’s an option for the shower! You set the bomb in the bottom of the shower and when the spray hits it, the stall is filled with a vibrant scent. It’s marvelous.
All the products are handmade in small batches right here in the Quad Cities. Ms. Headley experiments with different scents and colors until she finds one that really resonates with her. She does not add preservatives to keep the products as natural as possible. You can see she is committed to supporting the local community. She even has a signature bath bomb named Rocky Bomb for Rock Island High School.
My boys had fun choosing the scents for a candle and ended up with an amazing rainbow of smells. I’ve had it burning at home in the evening the past week and the fragrances are lovely. Even though we tried some of each color, they worked together really well.
Splash can also do custom orders where you pick the fragrance and color. They can gift wrap for “wedding showers, baby showers, anniversary parties, bridal party gifts, birthday parties and more.” What could be more perfect for a shower gift or shower favor than shower bombs?
Located in Shoppes on 2nd at 1700 2nd Ave in Rock Island, Splash is the first one in the door and has a window overlooking the street. There are two other great startups in this same location: Celebrate! (a bridal store) and Spellbound (a new age and gift shop). If you’re looking to pamper yourself, find a unique gift, and support a local store – I highly recommend Splash!
