When I saw the information for the first OMG BeckyFest, I knew it would be outstanding because the folks from Crafted Quad Cities are organizing it. Everyone knows that they have the scoop on what is “on trend” in the makers market.

It’s the last hurrah of summer! What are your plans for Labor Day Weekend? We have some ideas for you.
The Quad Cities is a melting pot of cultures. Throughout September the heritage of this area on the Mississippi River will be celebrated through a mixture of events with the Latino, Celtic, Belgian, German cultures, the history of farming, and the regional artists that bring it to life.
The newest addition to the local brewing scene in the Quad Cities is coming up on its one-year anniversary. Baked Beer & Bread Co. is located in the Village of East Davenport, at 1113 Mound Street. With plans already for expansion, I sat down with their newly appointed Head Brewer Curt Johnson to find out what’s coming up for the establishment.
Make plans to join the Quad Cities community at the Quad City Symphony Riverfront Pops Concert – The Beatles’ Greatest Hits on Saturday, August 19.
Bring chairs, blankets, food, coolers, family and friends to LeClaire Park in Iowa. You can also buy concessions from some of your local favorites. Set out your picnic spread and enjoy the show!
Fair Week in the Quad Cities is nothing short of legendary. It’s filled with country music, rock and the cool breeze (or in some cases, the heat wave) a summer night brings.
Add in the delicacy of fair food, lemonades and some beers, a couple spinny rides that you scream your head off, and livestock with baby animals…it’s a great time. Pile on the people that bring you the most joy in your life, and it can be the best event of the summer.
In the past two months I have had family in town visiting and this is always a special time to show off what the Quad Cities has to offer on the restaurant scene. I had always wanted to try Hemispheres Bistro in Bettendorf so I chose it for two family culinary experiences; a late lunch and an evening dinner.
The Quad City Symphony Orchestra’s traveling piano has made its way around the Quad Cities landing at Augustana College’s Gerber Center for Student Life.
Fair Week is back again, and the buzz has been in the air since the close of last concert of the 2016 Mississippi Valley Fair. So put on your boots, join the crowd, indulge in some fried food and drinks, and holler to get ready for these summer nights.
