Hemispheres Bistro: A Welcoming Gastronomical Journey

In the past two months I have had family in town visiting and this is always a special time to show off what the Quad Cities has to offer on the restaurant scene. I had always wanted to try Hemispheres Bistro in Bettendorf so I chose it for two family culinary experiences; a late lunch and an evening dinner.

My first visit was for lunch with my sister-in-law who was in town on business from Cincinnati. We were impressed with the elegant and yet comfortable ambiance. The lunch menu was varied and freshly prepared by a chef who we could watch create our dishes.

The lunch menu consists of four soups, six salads, a combination (choose two) of 1/2 soup, 1/2 salad or 1/2 sandwich, ten sandwiches, and four pastas with three finishes available and additional chicken, shrimp or vegetables.

My second visit was for an evening dinner with 10 family members. Half of the group, visiting from Vancouver and Colorado, were interested in trying a new menu. After some fine wine selections and conversation, we were served freshly prepared and delicious food which was artistically presented. The restaurant also accommodated our birthday celebration needs with excellent service and finesse.

In the evening I introduced myself to the delightfully professional manager, Emily Hudson, who in turn introduced me to the owner and chef, Aman Razdan. Razdan was very personable and filled with inspired creative energy. I recommend his special sauce, Szechuan Peppercorn, although you can choose from 14 finishing methods on your main dish.

Hemispheres website says is perfectly, “A strong knowledge of flavor profiles and a desire to offer a modern globally ethnic menu inspired Chef Aman Razdan to create Hemispheres Bistro. Our staff strives to provide diners with healthy, flavorful menu choices using fresh ingredients.”

The evening menu at Hemispheres Bistro is comprised of Starters, Salads, Shawarma, a Main Menu, and Finishings. Two sides are included with your entree (Main Menu). You may choose from four noodle dishes, four rice dishes, six potato dishes, and seven vegetable dishes.

I chose salmon with the Szechuan peppercorn finish, Brussels sprouts, and sweet potato puree with maple. It was a wonderful combination of textures, sweet and savory flavors, and enticing aromas. I plan to return often to Hemispheres Bistro. Lunch, Drinks or Dinner…always a finely crafted experience!
