Riverfront Pops Concert 2017: All you need is love, tickets, and snacks

Make plans to join the Quad Cities community at the Quad City Symphony Riverfront Pops Concert – The Beatles’ Greatest Hits on Saturday, August 19.

Bring chairs, blankets, food, coolers, family and friends to LeClaire Park in Iowa. You can also buy concessions from some of your local favorites. Set out your picnic spread and enjoy the show!

The Quad City Symphony Orchestra will entertain adults and kids alike with Beatles favorites. It won’t be like the concerts of Yesterday. We’ll all Come Together, and maybe Twist and Shout.  As you listen, someone may …Want to Hold Your Hand because She Loves You. As the sun sets you may be able to see a …Sky With Diamonds but in the magic along the river, in this great community, you’ll know, All You Need is Love.

Families love it:
Our family loves the QCSO Pops concert and has gone every year since we were first married. When kids came along we added them to the fun since it is such a family friendly event.  Nothing beats a beautiful night along the Mississippi with friends, enjoying the wonderful music of the QCSO.

“The highlight for us is the finale –  Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Orchestra, which rises to its peak with actual cannons being fired over the river echoing through downtown, and ends in fireworks leading to the Stars and Stripes Forever March.  You can’t help but love it!” shares Rachel Gustafson, husband to Rock Island art teacher, Bill, and mom to Grace (13), Luke (10), and Claire (6). Her parents often drive from the Chicagoland area to enjoy the impressive concert.

Talented area musicians love it:
“The Riverfront Pops concert is a signature event in the Quad Cities. One of the country’s longest-performing symphony orchestras showcases popular music along the Mississippi River in Davenport’s LeClaire Park. Complete with great food and friends, the annual event featuring the Quad City Symphony Orchestra is one not to miss,” writes Sam Schlouch, a singer and involved community member from Moline, IL.

People that haven’t attended wish they had:
Every year I want to go and we don’t. Then I hear the cannons go off and see all the wonderful photos on Facebook and Instagram and I’m so disappointed. Why didn’t we go? This is our year! We are packing up all four kids, inviting friends, and going to see the Riverfront Pops Concert!” promises…me.
