Oktoberfest Season in the Quad Cities

Fall is the season of leaves, cooler temps, pumpkin spice, and Oktoberfests!  There are a lot of different versions to this fun classic event in the Quad Cities.

Cruise the Mississippi on the Oktoberfest cruise on September 20-21, 2017, with Barefoot Becky & the Ivanhoe Dutchmen.  This band will get toes tapping and everyone out on the dance floor!  You can expect a mix of your favorite Oktoberfest polkas and waltzes and a mix of some party favorites.  Even the crew joins in!  This lunch cruise on the Celebration Belle riverboat departs at 10:30 a.m. from Moline, Illinois.

Ride your bicycle through the beautiful Iowa countryside during Ridetoberfest on Saturday, September 30.  Choose one of two charted routes beginning and ending at Happy Joe’s Grille, 350 E. LeClaire Rd. in Eldridge, Iowa.  Select the 50-mile ride beginning at 1 p.m., or the 20-mile route beginning at 2:30 p.m.  Registration includes a light meal followed by evening entertainment.  A T-shirt will be provided for the first 50 registrants.  For more information, visit www.hjkids.org

The Bierstube restaurant, 415 15th St. in Moline, Illinois, celebrates their Oktoberfest for two weekends on September 29-October 1 and October 6-8, 2017.  They’ll celebrate with live music from Austria’s Lederhosen trio, food, drink, kid’s crafts, games, and prizes.  Front Street Brewery2Front Street Brewery celebrates their Oktoberfest at their Taproom, 421 W. River Dr. in Davenport, Iowa, on September 29-30, 2017.  There will be live music, dancing, food and drink.

Lederhosen 5K games

Start your Oktoberfest weekend with the Lederhosen 5K and Oktoberfest on Saturday, September 30 at Schwiebert Riverfront Park in downtown Rock Island.  You’re encouraged to dress up for the 5K run/walk at 9:30 a.m. in your best lederhosen or dirndl.  Kids aren’t left out with their own half-mile fun run at 9:00 a.m. called the Kinderlauf.  When you’re done, stay for the free Oktoberfest Post-Race Party also open to the public until 3 p.m.  There will be your favorite beverages, German food, games for adults and kids, music, and fun!  For more information, visit www.lederhosen5K.com

It’s an Oktoberfest of racing at the Cordova International Raceway, 19425 IL-84 in Cordova on September 30-October 1, 2017.  On Saturday, the races feature the Midwest Outlaw Racing Series and Big Bucks Bracket Bash.  On Sunday, the races feature the 2076 Track Championship Runoff, Iron Man Bracket Race, and OMS.

hogtoberfestHogtoberfest is going back to the 80’s!  On Thursday, October 12, 2017, enjoy unlimited pork, beer and seasonal specialty drink samples featuring local establishments competing for various awards at the RiverCenter, 136 E. 3rd Street in Davenport, Iowa, from 5:30-8:30 p.m.  Guests will also be treated to a silent auction, beer pull, grub grab, live entertainment from Past Curfew (an 80’s tribute band), giveaways, games and more. The funds raised at this event will benefit the programs and services Friendly House provides to Quad Cities families.  Come dressed in your righteous 80’s gear!  Admission is $40 per person in advance and $50 at the door.
