As you look out the frost covered windows during this month, many of us dwell on what the holiday season means to us. Every person you meet will answer that question differently — but most will note the importance of family, giving, holiday decor, and cheer.
During this busy time, most families are constantly on the go with little time to spend together until the holidays arrive. However, in those open pockets of time, the Putnam Museum has their 4-day annual Polar Express Pajama Party, giving an opportunity to spend quality family time together.
With the option of a Friday, Saturday, or Sunday adventure to fit the tight family schedule, the Putnam brings to life the Polar Express with favorite festive activities, including sleigh-bell station and a flashlight guided tour of the Putnam after dark. To top it off, one cannot forget the essence of the Polar Express which is offered through a hot chocolate station and a screening of the beloved family storybook turned feature film. To learn more about what activities are offered for your family, visit their website.
Tickets are still available for the following dates:
- Friday, December 15th, from 3-9 pm with movies at 3:45pm, 6:00pm, and 8:15pm
- Sunday December 17th, from 12pm – 6:30pm, with movies at 12:30pm, 3pm and 5:30pm.

Get the family together, and head down to this event during this December week. Nothing beats the sound of a child laughing giddy as they enjoy themselves during the holiday season. Previously having been a nanny and in my current career path as a teacher, I can tell you that this is an event you’ll enjoy yourself and just be a child at heart again and embrace the joyfulness of the holiday season.
