Wallaces Garden Center Takes Christmas Shopping to the Highest Degree

When I think of shopping for unique items, I often go to Wallace’s Garden Center in Bettendorf, Iowa. Their slogan is “Your Store For All Seasons” and I agree! The center is beautifully merchandised for each season of the year, but it is at its shiny best at Christmas.

A View Of The Rafters

When I first enter the doors, I always look up into the rafters and see what is hanging to entice the shopper. I then head up to the gift and home decor areas. This area has grown significantly in the past several years with clothing and accessories being a chic addition to furniture, home decorating items, and kitchen items.

Clothing And Accessories

After looking at all the home and clothing items, I head for the greenhouse which is like a mini vacation spot. For the holidays it has fresh popcorn and a kiddie sandbox full of dried corn to play in, as well as numerous areas set up for photo opportunities to take family photographs for your holiday cards.

I am always amazed at the beautiful trees full of ornaments that the Wallace’s elves create. They are truly works of art. This year I was very impressed with the white winter wonderland theme. The owls and pine cones tree is my favorite.

Amidst all the trees–and there are many to look at–I found the miniature garden area which is large and certainly designed to inspire the creativity of any gardener. The green house also has a large selection of house plants, succulents, fairy garden plants, holiday plants, and all the accessories and products needed to keep them beautiful.

Fresh Greenery

I enjoy the faux Christmas tree area that is ablaze with lights and with trees of all sizes and shapes to meet your needs. There is also a large outside area of fresh evergreen trees.  Near the Christmas tree area is the entrance to the cooler where you can choose orchard-fresh apples of numerous varieties grown at the Wallace’s orchards.

Wallace’s also has a large birding area to please any one on your list who enjoys nature and attracting birds to their yard. I shop there regularly for seed and suet as well as accessory items.

Fresh Frozen Apple Cider

Before I leave, I usually get a glass of Wallace’s fresh frozen apple cider (only $1.00!) which is delicious with their free fresh popcorn. (Yes, popcorn is always free!) Christmas is almost here and there is still plenty of time to enjoy the season. Stop by Wallace’s with your camera to take some wonderful photographic memories and enjoy the shopping experience. These people work very hard to make their business shine for the holidays!
