All Senses Festival – 2018

All Senses Festival returns for its second year in the Quad Cities, September 25-30.  All Senses is a multi-art experience, held over several days, with collaborative efforts from many different artists and businesses.  There will be many mediums of art available to enjoy during the week; audio art and film, live music and spoken word, food, drink and antiques. Throughout the festival there will be many opportunities to feed all of your senses on both sides of the river.

Ragged Records of Davenport, Iowa

The Figge Art Museum, Rock Island Brewing Co. and Rozz-Tox will all host different events, collaborating with Ford Photography, the Midwest Writing Center, Ragged Records, and Curious Music, as well as many different regional and local artists and musicians.

September 25-27

FIGGE ART MUSEUM – DAVENPORT, IA

The Figge Art Museum, Ragged Records in Davenport, Iowa, and Curious Music, a record label in Coralville, Iowa, join together to present The Roedelius Cells by Tim Story, a Grammy-nominated composer. An “immersive audio experience” set up in the Grand Lobby of the museum. Story has taken different original piano recordings from Hans-Joachim Roedelius, a German experimental musician, and will play them through eight different speakers spaced equally throughout the lobby, so that wherever one may stand, one has varying audio experiences.  The installation will be open for appreciation during museum operating hours on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.

Thursday, September 27

FIGGE ART MUSEUM – DAVENPORT, IA

FORD PHOTOGRAPHY PRESENTS: CINEMA AT THE FIGGE

VOL. 12 – GUITAR & DRUMS; FREE EVENT, DONATIONS ACCEPTED

Thursday of the All Senses Festival brings a closing reception for Roedelius Cells with Tim Story, with the opportunity to meet Story, experience short films with live-score performances from regional musicians, followed by a feature film.

The schedule of the evening is below:

5 – 6pm: Tim Story will be available to discuss his project.

6 – 7pm: Cocktail & hors d’oeuvres hour with DJ sets.

7 pm: The Feature Film “Milford Graves Full Mantis”.

8:45 pm: The Short film program with live musical performances from Emma Ruth Rundle, Brian Barr of Aseethe, and Jason Horas of Archeress.

 

Friday, September 28

ROCK ISLAND BREWING CO. – ROCK ISLAND, IL – $15

The evening will begin with the Midwest Writing Center presenting readings from national and regional spoken word artists from 7:30 – 8:30 pm. Following will be live music from Sinner Frenz, Emma Ruth Rundle, and FACS.

 

Saturday, September 29

ROZZ-TOX, ROCK ISLAND, IL – $15

Rozz-Tox in Rock Island, Illinois

The Midwest Writing Center will present readings from national and regional spoken word artists interspersed through live musical performances by Brenden Wells, Metavari, Dos Santos, Condor & Jaybird and The Golden Fleece Present: Snooty and The Snout Pouch

 

Saturday, Sept. 29

ROCK ISLAND BREWING CO. – ROCK ISLAND, IL $15

Rock Island Brewing Co. in Rock Island, Illinois

7:30 – 8:30pm The Midwest Writing Center presents readings from national and regional spoken word artists followed by live musical performances from Telekinetic Yeti, Nest Egg, and Bongripper.

 

Sunday, Sept. 30th

LOWLAND BLOC PARTY – THE GREENSPACE OF ROZZ-TOX, ROCK ISLAND, IL

The closing event of All Senses Festival will be an outdoor party from 10am – 6pm featuring food, live music, an art and flea market, and so much more.  Join and support your local artistic community and experience All Senses Festival Tuesday, September 25 though Sunday, September 30.
