Visitors and residents alike will tell you that the Quad Cities puts on one of the best St. Patrick’s Day parades in the Midwest with thousands lining the parade route, and we host Iowa’s largest St. Patrick’s party.
Before the parade on Saturday, March 16, it’s CASI’s annual St. Patrick’s Day Race. The races start and finish at the Figge Art Museum plaza, 225 W. 2nd St. in downtown Davenport, Iowa. Three race categories are offered: 9:00 a.m. Tot Trot; 9:30 a.m. 1-mile Family Run/Walk; 10:00 a.m. 5K Run/Walk.
Heralded as the only interstate St. Patrick’s Day Parade in the nation, the Quad Cities Grand Parade XXXIV on Saturday, March 16, begins in downtown Rock Island, Illinois, and winds its way to the Centennial Bridge. Then it crosses the bridge over the Mississippi River and marches into downtown Davenport, Iowa.
Thousands line the streets to watch the bands, Irish dancers, floats, groups, and family clans. Named as one of the top ten St. Patrick’s Day Parades in North America, this annual parade is organized by the St. Patrick Society of the Quad Cities and starts at 11:30 a.m. in downtown Rock Island and ends by 1:30 p.m. in downtown Davenport.
Immediately following the Grand Parade, a Post Parade Bash is held at the RiverCenter, 136 East Third Street in downtown Davenport. The doors open at 1:00 p.m. and close at 4:30 p.m. Entry to the Post Parade Bash is by membership, with $15 memberships available at the door. You don’t have to be Irish to join. Persons 15 and under, accompanied by an adult, are free. The Bash includes food, drink, live Irish music and dancers, along with the presentation of the parade trophy winners.
For a kid-friendly option after the parade, stop by the Davenport Library after the St. Patrick’s Day parade and explore a creative side. St. Patrick’s Day crafts available free from 12:30-2 p.m., along with the button and sticker makers and the rest of the Make Stuff Jr. Cart.
The Mississippi Valley Fairgrounds, 2815 W. Locust Street in Davenport, Iowa, hosts a St. Patrick’s Day Bash on March 15-16, 2019. Doors open at the huge, indoor event hall at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, March 15 with live music from Span Halen, Project X, and Tomb. On Saturday, March 16, doors open at 10 a.m. and there will be food, drink, games, live music all day, and Blackhawk Pipe and Drum.
Kelly’s has moved its party to downtown Davenport, Iowa, to the Front Street Brewery Taproom and the Freight House parking lot, 431 W. River Drive with a large heated tent. On March 15-16, 2019, there will be live music, green beer, corned beef and cabbage, and more. The fun begins at 5 p.m. on Friday and 9 a.m. on Saturday. Great River Brewery in downtown Davenport taps the Dry Irish Stout on Saturday, March 16! Don’t miss the golden keg at 1:00 p.m., and they open at 9:00 AM for the St. Patrick’s parade. Across the street from Great River, the new Bootleg Hill Meadery is tapping a Green Mead at 10 am.
Armored Gardens is hosting a St. Paddy’s Patio Bash featuring bounce houses and a magician from 1-4 p.m. for the kids at 315 Pershing Ave., Davenport. The 100 beers on tap and DJ will keep the party going.
Join us on Saturday, March 16 at Up Skybar in downtown Davenport for the Quad Cities St. Patrick’s Parade. Irish food and drink specials all day! UP will open early at 11am on Saturday. Specials include $3 Green Beer and $5 Corned Beef Slider meal w/fries. On Sunday, VIVA (inside The Current Iowa hotel) will offer $5 Green Beer special and Corned Beef Sliders combo served in the private dining room.
The Key at Union Arcade in downtown Davenport will have Irish food & drink on Saturday, March 16, at 3rd & Brady adjacent to the downtown parade and races. Omelet & Hashbrowns Bar 8am to 11am. Starting at 11:30am: Guinness-Brined Corned Beef with Jameson Glaze, Bacon Braised Cabbage, Potatoes O’Brien. Domestic Aluminum Bottles $3 (Bud, Coors & Miller), Leprechaun Shots, Irish Car Bombs. Bloody Mary’s with Corned Beef Sliders. Shamrock Boozerts (Boozerts are alcohol infused desserts made by our very own pastry chef Jennifer Ewert).

Also in Davenport, Harrington’s Pub has a huge St. Paddy’s Day Bash on Saturday and Sunday! There is live music on Saturday starting at 1 p.m. There is also drink specials all day and complimentary corned beef and cabbage while it lasts. Live music on Sunday starting at 1 p.m.
Across the river in Rock Island, Kavanaugh’s Hilltop hosts their 7th Annual Shamrockin’ Paddy O’Party on Saturday, March 16 starting at Noon with a huge, heated tent, food, drink, and live music with the Greg & Rich Duo, Phyllis & the Sharks, and Smooth Groove.
The Stern Center, 1713 3rd Ave., downtown Rock Island, opens at 9 a.m. Saturday, March 16 for parade day with specials on Jameson shots, jello shots, and Guinness, hot dogs, hamburgers and corned beef sandwiches, beer pong, bags, DJ with music, and more.
On Saturday, March 16 at 1 PM the East End Boulders Club in Moline has a St. Patrick’s Dinner serving corned beef, cabbage, as well as all the fixings! There is no admission cost, but there is a charge for the dinner. The cost for dinner is $8/person. Tickets MUST be purchased at the East End Boulders Club in advance. This event is open to the public as well as East End Bolders Club members.
