KinderNature at the Quad City Botanical Center

The Quad City Botanical Center is one of our family’s favorite places to visit. We’ve recently discovered the KinderNature classes offered once a month and they are FANTASTIC!

Mr. Greg tells the kids about carnivores.

Hosted by Mr. Greg, these programs are full of great information and tons of fun. There are a variety of activities featuring many different types of learning from auditory to visual with lots of hands-on learning. There are even topic and age appropriate snacks.

We find that often Quad Cities activities suggest younger toddler ages, but in reality are more geared to pre-K or Kindergartners. KinderNature is spot on with its topics and activities. The hour is jam-packed with engaging ideas for youngsters.

KINDERNATURE EVENTS

  • Offered monthly, on the second Tuesday
  • At the Botanical Center in Rock Island
  • For 3—5-year-olds
  • From 10:30—11:30 a.m.
  • Cost is $8/child + $4/each additional child. General admissions applies to other adults joining.
  • Class size is limited to 20, so reservations are recommended and appreciated.

For tickets call: 309-794-0991 or email vs@qcgardens.com or go to the QC Botanical Center ticketing website

I also highly recommend following the Quad City Botanical Center on Facebook. It’s the best place to find info about the great events including KinderNature.

Previous KinderNature topics have included: Fantastic Flowers, Monarchs, Nature with Monet, Hibernation, Dinosaurs, Fish! and many more.

We attended in February 2019 for the Dinosaurs KinderNature. We made our own fossils, dug for creatures in sand, learned about the oldest and biggest dinosaurs, touched real dino poop(!), created a craft, and snacked on tasty treats.

Each month offers a new nature adventure. Check them out!
