Quad Cities Fishing Facts and Events

With the Quad Cities located on the fourth largest river in the world AND settled in and around many other waterways and bodies of waters, it’s a great place to fish! June is an especially fun month to get started because there are some fun fishing events, including FREE fishing days both in Illinois and Iowa. Being so close to the border, we can take advantage of both states’ license free weekends.

FREE FISHING DAYS
To celebrate fishing, you can fish without purchasing a fishing license, salmon stamp or inland trout stamp on special dates.
Iowa: June 7-9, 2019
Illinois: June 14-17, 2019 (Father’s Day weekend)

FISHING LICENSE INFO
IL fishing licenses are available online from the Illinois Department of Natural Resources or from approved license vendors. You can get a 24-hour, annual or lifetime sport fishing license. Fishing folks under 16 may fish without a license.

IA fishing licenses may be purchased online from the Iowa Department of Natural Resources or via a license vendor. Fishing folks under 16 may fish without a license.
