Homebrew Festiv-Ale returns to the Quad Cities on Saturday, July 20, 2019. FestivAle is the only local beer festival that features over 50 home brewed beers.
This year’s Festiv-Ale from 2-6 pm at Wake Brewing in Rock Island, Illinois, features beers brewed by home brew clubs from all over the region. There will be a selection of beers from the local Quad Cities clubs: MUGZ, REFS, Powder Keggers, and Trade My Home Brew. There will also be home brew clubs from outside the area, including members of CRAZE from the Cedar Falls/Waterloo area as well as the Cedar Rapids Beer Society, who will have tents set up and will be pouring samples of their concoctions.
Festiv-Ale also has a connection to the local professional brewing industry through the serving of Reverse Collaborations. This is when a professional brewer goes over to a home brewer’s house to brew on a small scale brewing system. This year there will be Reverse Collabs from the brewers of Wake Brewing, Crawford Brew Works, Five Cities Brewing, Bent River Brewery, and Rebellion Brew Haus.
The Homebrew Festiv-Ale is a great way to try some of the most interesting and creative beers around. It is a fun afternoon at a new brewery in the area to support a local community and to meet people who make beer for a living as well as for fun. Tickets are $20 for 15 sample tickets and event glassware. Food will be provided by Roy’s Fed Up Hot Dog Cart. Check out details on the Facebook event.
