The Rock Island Gran Prix is happening August 31-September 1 in downtown Rock Island. Kart racing is where IndyCar, Formula 1 and some NASCAR drivers learn their race craft so you may be watching motorsports starts of the future racing through downtown city streets one inch off the ground at speeds up to 80 MPH. Event includes vendors, car show, nightly outdoor concerts and other activities downtown. Event features 16 feature races with practice and heat races Saturday and Finals on Sunday.

This year’s Heritage Tractor Parade and Show is scheduled for Saturday, September 7, and owners of all brands, models and colors of tractors are welcome to join in the fun. Participation is free, but all equipment must be from 1970 or earlier. The parade will begin at 10 a.m. in front of the John Deere Pavilion on River Drive and will proceed to 19th Street, then on to 5th Avenue, and down 12th Street.

VIVA Quad Cities is a fun-packed fiesta highlighting Latino culture, music, dance, food and more on Sept. 7. The fiesta demonstrates the growing diversity and vitality of the Hispanic community in the Iowa/Illinois Quad-Cities. Food booths, arts, crafts and entertainment are highlights of the Fiesta.

The Beaux Arts Fund Committee has been celebrating its 66th year with their bi-annual art fair this year. The Beaux Arts Fall Art Fair will be held September 7-8, on the Bechtel Plaza of the Figge Art Museum in Davenport. The Fall Art Fair is a perfect time to begin your Christmas shopping with truly unique gifts. With over 65 artists, food, music, and children’s spin art, it will be an enjoyable family activity.

Join us for the Davenport Americana Show, the Past Gas Car Show & Cruise and Davenport Americana Auction! September 12-14th at the Mississippi Valley Fairgrounds in Davenport, Iowa. The Auction will be on Sept. 13th and 14th.

The Fall Belgian Fest honors the Belgian history of Moline, Illinois on Sept. 15. During the free Flemish Fest from 12 to 4 p.m., enjoy the activities centered on Belgium culture—rolle bolle, lace making demonstrations, pigeon racing pigeons, Belgian draft horses, and live music.  Try some Belgian beer and, of course, Belgian waffles.

Kayak Racers In Fog

Join River Action for our annual Taming of the Slough Adventure Triathlon this fall to paddle, mountain bike, and run your way to the top. This year’s Taming of the Slough will take place in downtown Moline on Saturday, September 21. The route takes you through the Sylvan Slough by kayak or canoe, then through one of the Quad Cities excellent single-track mountain bike trails on Sylvan Island and finishes with a two mile run along Arsenal Island’s riverfront. Compete individually or form a team to Tame the Slough!

Take a tour of the American brewing landscape—one ounce at a time—at Brew Ha Ha.  Some are from well-loved places around the Quad Cities, while others offer you something new to sample and sip.  Brew Ha Ha offers just about every type of beer, porter, ale, lager and more from 1 to 5 p.m. on Sept. 21, happening along the Mississippi River at LeClaire Park in downtown Davenport, Iowa.

Rivers­sance Festival of Fine Art will celebrate its 32nd year as the premier fine arts festival in the Quad Cities Sept. 21-22, showcasing top artists from through­out North Amer­ica. Located on a scenic hill over­look­ing the Mis­sis­sippi River in the his­toric Vil­lage of East Dav­en­port, Riverssance fea­tures over 85 exhibiting artists who will exhibit fine art works. Additionally, there is wine tasting of Tabor Wines, a children’s art activity tent hosted by Rivermont Collegiate, live local music organized by River Music Experience, and great food for purchase.

The Veterans Classic Car Show at the Mississippi Valley Fair pavilion, located at 2815 West Locust Street, Davenport, Iowa will be held on September 21. Enjoy music, classic cars, food and beverages.

Run through two states and across three bridges on this “runner friendly” course, labeled flat and fast starting in downtown Moline at the Quad Cities Marathon on September 22!

Come enjoy the Quad Cities Hot Air Balloon Festival Sept. 27-29! Watch these quietly, majestic balloons take off, race, land, and glow at night at the Rock Island County Fairgrounds in East Moline.

Join us on 4th Street, Sept. 28 when Orion’s largest block party takes place as we block off 4th street for Eat in the Street. Free main meat dish provided by Main Street Orion. Bring your favorite side dish. Food service begins at 6:00 p.m. and then live music by Mo’s Garage begins at 7:00 until 10:00. Main Street Orion will be selling Hard and Soft beverages.

Quad City’s Vintage Rods 48th Annual Car Show on Sunday, Sept. 29 at the Black Hawk College Quad-Cities Campus will highlight more than 400 antique cars, hot rods, street rods and special interest vehicles owned by club members and other collectors from around the Midwest.
