I will admit, I set the bar low as our two little guys and I headed to the Putnam Museum to see “The Three Little Wolves and the Big Bad Pig” for Story Time on the GIANT Screen. My kids might not behave in the big theater…the book might not be that good as a movie..the “fun activity” might be too advanced or not advanced enough.
Well, let me tell you: the experience FAR exceeded my expectations!! What a fun visit! We can’t wait to attend more. Story Time on the GIANT Screen at the Putnam needs to go on your must do with toddlers and preschoolers list this year! Did I mention: It’s FREE?!

The new exhibit, Literary Heroines: Their Times, Their Fashions, at the Putnam Museum is a brilliant blend of literature, fashion and book art. My monthly book club, Reading Between the Wines, decided that this was a fun way to celebrate literature. One of our members made our reservations at the Putnam Museum for the special luncheon which was designed specifically to attract book clubs.

Whether your child is flipping through a book on their own, telling a made up story from their context clues in pictures, or having an adult read to them, it’s all a part of those literacy development stages.
