The Quad Cities is a melting pot of cultures. Throughout September the heritage of this area on the Mississippi River will be celebrated through a mixture of events with the Latino, Celtic, Belgian, German cultures, the history of farming, and the regional artists that bring it to life.
If you’re ever looking for an afternoon adventure, I suggest planning a visit to Good’s Furniture in Kewanee, Illinois. It is about an hour’s drive outside of the Quad Cities area. While the main business of Good’s is a furniture store, I recently discovered that there is so much more to the establishment.
There are plenty of places to go with Dad this weekend and treat him to a fun Father’s Day weekend!
From now until April 10, the German American Heritage Center hosts “Crossing the Tracks of Time: QC Railroad History”, an exhibit about the development of the railroad in the Quad Cities.
The Quad Cities is filled with historical gems and great architecture. One of the most enjoyable ways to see them is to take a guided walking tour. Wear your favorite walking shoes, bring a bottle of water and an energy bar to experience history!
