2019 Putnam Summer Camps

In just a few weeks, schools will be ending for the year and transitioning into summer break. During this time, many parents scurry to find ideas to keep their child engaged, interactive, excited, and avoiding excessive screen time during the summer. It’s important that anything their child does provides learning experiences and/or some sort of physical activity. We are fortunate in the Quad Cities to have multiple opportunities for individuals of all ages in every season — especially, with our local Putnam Museum and Science Center.

Wildly Engaging! Maurice Sendak Exhibit At The Figge

The new Maurice Sendak traveling exhibition at the Figge Art Museum in Davenport, Iowa, was a destination for our family when visitors were in town for the week. I have enjoyed Sendak’s work for years and found the exhibit Where The Wild Things Are – Maurice Sendak : The Memorial Exhibition…50 Years, 50 Works, 50 Reasons to be interactive and thought provoking.

Riverfront Pops Concert 2017: All you need is love, tickets, and snacks

Make plans to join the Quad Cities community at the Quad City Symphony Riverfront Pops Concert – The Beatles’ Greatest Hits on Saturday, August 19.

Bring chairs, blankets, food, coolers, family and friends to LeClaire Park in Iowa. You can also buy concessions from some of your local favorites. Set out your picnic spread and enjoy the show!

Movies at Main!

For all the nannies, parents and grandparents taking care of the kiddos over the summer, your “what to do on a rainy Tuesday afternoon” problems are solved. No need to spend $10 on a movie — visit your local library.

Throughout the summer until July 25, the Davenport Public Library – Main Downtown Branch is hosting a summer movie event for the kids in the area, FREE of charge, with that beloved movie popcorn we all crave.
