When the lightning bugs come out so does the stage lighting for numerous summer theatre shows in the Quad Cities area. Spend your summer nights lost in the worlds of ancient Greece, forests, Biblical times, the 1980s, the 1950s, and more.
April is Quad Cities Live Month, a time to promote the Arts in the Quad Cities. What better way to celebrate then for myself and my sister to attend the Sunday early evening production of Shear Madness at Circa ’21 Dinner Playhouse in downtown Rock Island, Illinois.
There’s a reason that Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat is a show that has attracted crowds for decades (and continues to be one of my personal favorites). The family musical highlights the trials and triumphs of Joseph, Israel’s favorite son. And it’s just plain fun.
While enjoying the national tour of the show at the Adler Theatre on April 4, I was swept away in the magic once again.
Let’s go fly a kite in the beautiful Prospect Park in Moline and see if we can find some musical cats running the grounds as they are being chased by a young Frankenstein.
