For same-sex couples looking to get married in Iowa, marriage licenses can be secured at the Scott County recorder office at 600 W. 4th Street, Davenport, Iowa. All that is required is a nominal license fee and a witness (photo IDs required). Scott County has a three-day waiting period. You may apply for a marriage license at any county recorded in Iowa as long as the ceremony is to be performed in Iowa.
Illinois also can conduct civil unions for same-sex couples. To get a civil union license in Rock Island County, there is a cash-only nominal license fee and valid photo ID required. There is a required overnight waiting period. If you obtain your civil union license in Rock Island County, the civil union must be performed in Rock Island County.
