This workshop will focus on fundamental techniques of hand-built vessles and small sculptures in a studio setting. Discussions and demonstrations will also include throwing pots on the wheel. Raku is a low-fire technique in which pieces are rapidly fired until glazes have melted (approx. 1700 degrees F). The pieces are quickly removed from the kiln and placed in containers of combustible materials such as sawdust. Raku pottery is for decorative use only.
