“Extra Credit,” a unique and free event, is a walking drama along the Davenport Mississippi riverfront that explores what history sites can mean for us today. The readers' theater cast will walk a loop of about one mile as four young people work on an extra credit project for their history class. They are met by older adults who also have things to say about how history can be relevant. Historical sites include the first railroad bridge across the Mississippi, the Black Hawk Treaty signing, the Dred Scott house, the Lincoln statue, and River Heritage Park. Presented on Sunday, August 13, 2017, at 3:00 in the afternoon Meet at the Rotary pavilion in River Heritage Park, just east of the Government Bridge. Park in the lot on the river side of East River Drive, or use the lot just off Tremont Avenue near East River Drive.
