Museum Week- Native Americans

Museum Week continues with our exploration of the different Native American tribes that lived in the Quad Cities Area on the Mississippi River by discussing and observing artifacts in the Putnam’s archives.

During the event your child will:

Learn the different uses and the importance of Native American accessories and beads

Create a beaded Native American necklace

Tour the Putnam Museum’s River, Prairie & People exhibit, and view special artifacts not open to general public

Participate in an educational talk from curator Chris Kastell on Native American culture

 

The recommended age for all programs is elementary level. There are only a select number of spots for this program, sign up today by contacting Georgia Stear at (563)336-7308 or gstear@putnam.org.

Please note that this is NOT a drop-off program, all children should be accompanied by an adult at all times.
