About the Speaker
Jalea Jackson, a former QC resident, will speak about the ways abuse affects the dynamics of families. A recent graduate from Louisiana State University, Jalea has won multiple awards for her work as an editor, photographer, filmmaker and producer.
Jalea's short narrative, Things with Feathers, is scheduled to release this winter. The film is based on Jalea's story and follows a 10-year-old girl's struggle to balance her life as both a child and a survivor of abuse.
