Love is Still All You Need: Beatlemania Returns at the Putnam

“Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band, we hope you will enjoy the show…”

And “enjoy the show” is certainly what Beatles fans did for decades after the band premiered in the late 1950s/early 1960s. Even after the band disbanded in 1969-70, their music continues to live on for all the generations following.

Now, fans old and new have the chance to relive the decade of some of the greatest rock music to ever exist through the Putnam Museum’s new exhibit, The Magical History Tour: A Beatles Exhibition.

4 Favorite Local Coffee Shops

If there’s one thing I love, it’s a good cup of coffee. Or chai tea. Or hot chocolate. Really, I’ll take anything warm in a giant mug.

Pair this with a great atmosphere and friendly baristas, and I’m basically in heaven.

Luckily for me (and for you), there are loads of incredible coffee shops in the Quad Cities area. Whether meeting with a friend, working on your latest project, or just needing a boost of caffeine, there are plenty of options.

The Art of Craft Cocktails at Cru

Cru in downtown Davenport, Iowa, with its “casual social club” atmosphere, presented an understated and sophisticated ambiance. Our visitors from Chicago and Cincinnati found it to be a fascinating experience.

The interior of Cru was casual but elegant with high ceilings covered in vintage tin ceiling tiles. The walls were bar to ceiling height shelves full of various wine, craft beer and liquor. There were intimate tables and a long brushed stainless steel bar.

Luckily, there are great classes right in the Quad Cities that give your kids the chance to learn skills in the kitchen. Our friends at our local Hy-Vee stores have plenty of options for ways to kids comfortable making meals and finding their way around the kitchen.

Maybe this won’t lead to television fame, but it could be a great way to encourage your kids to make you breakfast one day. Plus, the classes are all focused on healthier recipes, which all parents will love.
