Eldridge Moonlight Chase Fun Run – July 14, 2018

The Moonlight Chase in Eldridge, Iowa, is a fun race you won’t want to miss. If you’re a longtime road racer, a running newbie, or a race fan – this one is unique and…of all things…lovely.

Join us for the 34th Annual Moonlight Chase on July 14, 2018

Kids races: $15.00
1/4 Mile at 7:30 pm
1 Mile at 8:00 pm

Adult race: $30.00
4 Mile at 9:00 pm

As you can see the most glaring uniqueness is that the race is run in the evening, but that’s not all that makes this race special. The 4-mile route is lined with luminaries and fans…thousands of fans that is, all cheering along the way. In true Iowa-fashion and representative of small-town America, Eldridge rolls out the welcome mat as this race is the culmination of the Eldridge Festival. The after-race party is a great event with music and dancing under the stars.

“It was a moonlit night run for all to remember, the bright stars guided our way as our toes paved the way,'” Jess Mumma and friends (Nicole Jeffrey Bussard, Amy Blair Westfall, Brenda Morehart and Ken Cooper) remember the race fondly.

Marc Carlson of Eldridge, IA, has kids that have run the Moonlight Chase in the past. This year he’s excited to join the runners. He says, “It’s a fun race to be a spectator. There’s a lot of energy and the luminaries and stars offer a really great backdrop. I can’t wait to see if the view’s as good running as it is cheering.”

According to Moonlightchase.com “Race proceeds from the Moonlight Chase go to support local civic projects. Race proceeds support local organizations like the Scott County Library System, the Eldridge Volunteer Fire Department, Long Grove Fire Department, North Scott Post Prom, Hometown Holiday, and the list goes on.…”

Support a great cause. Get your “midnight” run on! And enjoy the party! REGISTER TODAY
