Graveyard Studios – located at 2850 Eastern Ave in Davenport, Iowa – is an awesome creative co-work space that is preparing itself for a bright future of helping out the artistic community of the Quad Cities.
I recently had the opportunity to sit down in the studio with owner, Josh Graves, to ask him a few questions, get a tour of the space, and learn all about this cool endeavor.
Graveyard Studios started out seven years ago. There have been a few different locations but they’ve been at the Annie Whittenmyer campus for a year and are very happy with the space. It has a cool feel to it, with art on the brick walls, high ceilings and wood floors – the perfect backdrop for an artist co-lab.
Current Graveyard Studios identifies as a “one stop shop for independent musicians and small businesses that need professional audio or video production services.” There is a recording studio available for those looking for audio needs as well as access to videographers and assistance with editing and all of the technology associated with both audio and video needs.
But Graves wants to see Graveyard grow into so much more – he’s looking to bridge the gap between entrepreneurs and artists by providing a place for creative minds to come together, create, and collaborate. Interested artists can access various membership levels starting at $50 up to $150 that provides a dedicated desk in the studio and access to some equipment available.
Graveyard Studios wants to aid artists in being able to connect and share resources so that those who want to dedicate their living to their creative endeavors, can do so full time. All types of art and artists are welcome – musicians, videographers, bloggers, podcasters, painters – and as those involved grow, so do the resources available for the art community.
Keep an eye on what Graves and Graveyard Studios is up to here on Facebook along with their events – and watch this really cool concept and community grow. If you’re interested in learning more about becoming a member or contributing to the space, call Josh at (563) 271-0685.
