For years downtown Davenport has hosted Icestravaganza at the Freight House. The winter event promises unique chilly-weather art, creative brilliance and tons of fun!
“This was a great way to get outside in the middle of the winter. The kids enjoyed deciding which one was their favorite and we enjoyed the artistry. It was fun for all of us!” shares Amy Jones from Maquoketa, Iowa.
What can we promise you at this event?
Ice Sculptures – definitely
This year the sculpture theme is Aliens and Area 51 – so get ready for space ships, extra–terrestrials, and other out-of-this-world creations.
Live Carving Demonstrations – you’ll be amazed
24,000 lbs of ice! 5 professional carvers! Piles of creativity!
Kids’ Activities – lots of family fun
Games, crafts, story time and more will be available. Many are outside (so dress warmly) but some special activities will be offered indoors.
Outdoor Winter Festivities
The Farmer’s Market and local vendors (indoors) offer items for sale. Additionally, there will be jewelry and cash prizes!
