Quad Cities Fishing Facts and Events

With the Quad Cities located on the fourth largest river in the world AND settled in and around many other waterways and bodies of waters, it’s a great place to fish! June is an especially fun month to get started because there are some fun fishing events, including FREE fishing days both in Illinois and Iowa. Being so close to the border, we can take advantage of both states’ license free weekends.

Toddlers and Trampolines: Fun in the Quad Cities

The Quad Cities now offers three fantastic indoor spaces to jump: Altitude Trampoline Park in Davenport, IA, Elevate Trampoline Park in Milan, IL, and Helium Trampoline & Indoor Adventure Park in Eldridge, IA. Our whole family (ages 2-40) loves to trampoline and enjoys the various activities, obstacles and fun at the different trampoline parks around the area. Recently, our toddlers have been taking advantage of the Toddler/Tot Times. You won’t want to miss this great opportunity for younger-child fun at a great price!

Over 60 years later, Augustana’s Kaleidoscope program still awesome for kids

When I was a teenager, I took a job as a nanny each summer. The child I looked after has always been really interested in the arts. Even to this day, she loves cooking, clothes, painting, crafts, drama, and other creative disciplines. Her mom and I talked about a couple programs that her daughter could be involved in with other children her own age. She enrolled in Augustana College’s Kaleidoscope program.

Meet the Unhuggables of the Forest: A Fantastic Family Event

Meet the Unhuggables of the Forest is a fabulous family event hosted by Citizens to Preserve Black Hawk Park Foundation and co-sponsored by the Sierra Club Eagle View Group. The annual event is an absolute delight featuring a variety of forest animals and the qualities that make them unhuggable/huggable and lovable/unlovable. My family attended for the first time this year and WOW! I was impressed. So were the three of my sons (ages 7, 4 and 2) that joined me.
