The Quad Cities hosts three must-do fantastic preschool activities open to visitors and Quad Citizens: Tykes on the Turf at The River’s Edge in Davenport, Teaching Kitchen at the Family Museum in Bettendorf, and KinderNature at the Botanical Center in Rock Island. What I love most about these is that visiting kids can easily register for one session, while Quad Citizens can participant multiple times. If you have someone visiting or live in the area with preschool children – these are especially great for the winter months.
Throughout November and December, the Quad Cities has wonderful events and performances to celebrate the holidays. Plan your holiday getaway in the area around one or more of these events!
As a family with four very active boys, we love places we can go and do things. That’s why fall and the area pumpkin farms, pumpkin patches and nurseries are some of the best entertainment around.
FIVE FAVORITE QUAD CITIES PUMPKIN PATCHES with Halloween Activities and Lots of Fun to enjoy.
Boo at the Zoo is one of the best events of the year hosted by Niabi Zoo in Coal Valley, Ill. Considered a “merry not scary” event, there is only fun offered for Boo at the Zoo attendees!

With the Quad Cities located on the fourth largest river in the world AND settled in and around many other waterways and bodies of waters, it’s a great place to fish! June is an especially fun month to get started because there are some fun fishing events, including FREE fishing days both in Illinois and Iowa. Being so close to the border, we can take advantage of both states’ license free weekends.
Escape Rooms are becoming quite popular around the nation and the Quad Cities has followed suit now with five different locations. An escape room is an interactive, mystery solving, group activity filled with puzzles and clues following an adventurous story line. You and your teammates enter into a room with a mission, some guidance, and have to solve your way out. They are very fun and great team-building, bonding experiences.
Though the motive for each establishment is the same – fun and excitement – how they deliver the games is a bit different at each location. There are some things to keep in mind before showing up to play.
The Quad City Botanical Center is one of our family’s favorite places to visit. We’ve recently discovered the KinderNature classes offered once a month and they are FANTASTIC!
