As a family with four very active boys, we love places we can go and do things. That’s why fall and the area pumpkin farms, pumpkin patches and nurseries are some of the best entertainment around.

Quad Citizens are super excited about the new play equipment at Sunderbruch Park in Davenport, Iowa, because the various installments are much like the obstacles in the hit TV show American Ninja Warrior.
“It was great to sit with a bunch of people with whom we knew we had something in common. We all loved dogs. We all loved beer.” It was a perfect place to meet some new friends,” says Rock Island resident Robb McCoy.

If you have any young (or older) train enthusiasts in your family you won’t want to miss Little Conductor’s Day at the Quad City Botanical Center.
A day of family fun focused on trains includes train-themed crafts and activities hosted inside the facility. The highlight, however, is the Heartland Central Garden Railway set up in the outside Railroad Garden. For this special event, conductors from the Heartland Model Railway Club will be on hand to answer questions and host a variety of trains on the garden tracks. The trains are 1:24th scale and up to four separate trains can operate at a time.
I asked my fellow Quad Citizens for the best sandwiches available in the Quad Cities and they delivered. My mouth is literally watering as I write this and I can’t wait until my next lunch date! My advice: just start at the top of the list and work your way down. There’s not a single sandwich or establishment on this list that you will regret trying. Sooooo many tasty recommendations!
You don’t want to miss the 2019 Rock Island Artists’ Market.
“The artists’ market is community at its best. It’s a venue for local artists and vendors to share their work and it’s in Rock Island. There are jewelry vendors, snacks, produce vendors, clothing, accessories, pottery. You could find a gift for any friend or family member, something beautiful for yourself and produce for lunch or dinner that night. I love how friendly and excited everyone is at these events and Brandy VandeWalle is amazing, organized and a joy to be around,” shares Sarah McCoy, Rock Island resident.
