6 Favorite Quad Cities Ice Cream Shops

Summer to our family (and, apparently, our friends, too) means sunshine, water play, grilling, and cold, ice-creamy treats! But ice cream is good any time of the year!

Check out these Quad Cities favorite ice cream shops:

Lagomarcino's Confectionery in Davenport, IA and Moline, IL does indeed have some of the finest chocolate; however, we love their hot fudge sundaes best. The shop was also featured on the Cooking Channel's Ice Cream Nation on the Food Network.

Whitey's Ice Cream located throughout the QC and Coralville, is just the best. We recommend their shakes, malts, chippers (try the mint one…yummmm!), cones, sundaes, Bostons (a shake + sundae…I mean, come on…so so good!), floats, and freezes. Whitey's is our go-to post-event celebration spot.

Whiteys Ice Cream

Country Style located throughout Illinois and Iowa is “My kids' favorite,” says Margaret Ellis, “because the servings are huge and they love the dipped cones!” Besides being tasty there are other reasons to consider these desserts: they are gluten-free, reduced fat, kosher, and contain no high fructose corn syrup. Some say it tastes “homemade.” I think it's way better than I can make at home.

Steel Plow Burger Company may have tasty burgers, but I know them for their unbelievable shakes. Just, wow! The desserts available at this place are a sight to behold. Go. Try them.

Here's the Scoop in the Village of East Davenport is a place a lot of our friends love. They also have a new location in LeClaire. Mike, father of Mae (5) and Elle (2) comments, “Here's the Scoop is our new favorite spot in the Village of East Davenport. From single serve cones, to gourmet sundaes, they have a tremendous variety and a friendly staff. Our favorite flavors include cake batter, dutch letter, and goat cheese/roasted cherry!”

The Keiblers from Bettendorf know their ice cream and they love Here's the Scoop.

Chocolate Manor in Davenport, IA, hosts all kinds of decadent chocolate treats besides gelato…but let's be honest, gelato is soooo good. We tried vanilla bean, berry, and chocolate.
