Filmmakers Are Welcome In The Quad Cities

Positioned perfectly in the Heartland, our Midwestern destination provides a diverse backdrop; unique, open landscapes, the world-renowned Mississippi River, unexpected architecture, industrial buildings, downtowns and main streets, farmland, several housing options, and much more. We are known as the Creative Captial of the Midwest, comprised of the right people, “Quad Citizens”, who understand the business.

Not only have films like “Sugar”, “Bix” and “Children of the Corn” been partly filmed in and around the Quad Cities area, but the QC is also home to the powerhouse filmmaking duo Scott Beck and Bryan Woods. Beck and Woods, from Bettendorf, Iowa, created the story and co-wrote “A Quiet Place” as well as “Nightlight” and “Heretic.”

Talented, local crews, pre-production services, various accommodations, affordability, and easy access to the QC make us desirable to film, multimedia, and television production companies. Plus, the Quad Cities' proximity to Chicago and our international airport (MLI) make us an ideal and attainable community for the creative class.

We will connect you with local experts to bring your ideas, stories, and projects to life. We are storytellers too, so we get it and will assist you every step of the way.

The Quad City Area Film Office is a great way to get connected to opportunities in our region. The office, located in Rock Island, IL, can help you set up financial incentives and convenient locations, and pursue talent as needed. Check out their website here.

The State of Illinois is supportive of the industry and provides a 30% Film Tax Credit as an opportunity for filmmakers.
