Tugfest - Tug of War across the Mississippi River
EST. 1987 – LeClaire, Iowa vs Port Byron, Illinois: Watch as 10 x 20-member tug teams pull 2,700ft and 680lb of rope spanning the Mississippi River.
Each year the teams compete to see who will claim the travelling alabaster statue of a Bald Eagle in flight. Over 35,000 people view this spectacular and only tug-of-war across the longest river in the U.S.A.
