Christmas at Deere-Wiman House
Christmas at Deere-Wiman House, 817 11th Avenue, Moline, IL
It’s time to get your jolly on! For our 2021 Christmas at Deere-Wiman House event, we will be implementing a (free) timed entry ticket system for guests to tour the house in early December.
The number of tickets available is limited to 30 per half hour, so ordering early is suggested if you want to ensure that you secure a spot. There is a half hour window in which to arrive for your allotted time slot. Once you have started your self-guided tour of the first and second floors, you may stay as long as you like. Simply select a date and an entry time, print out your registration confirmation, and present it at the door.
Friday, December 3rd -2:30p until 7:00p Saturday, December 4th, 2:30p until 7:00 Sunday, and December 5th, noon until 3:30p
The 1872 Deere-Wiman House, home of John Deere’s son, Charles, will be adorned with beautiful and festive Victorian era decorations for guests to view at their leisure. As you peruse the living areas of the Deere family, who resided there from the late 1800’s until 1976, you may envision the joy and laughter of children playing with the 1930 Lionel Train set and the child’s toy oven/range on display. Or, you may imagine the lovely fragrance the intricately decorated 1890’s perfume bottle contained.
Traditionally, we have provided families with a workshop to make holiday ornaments. Due to Covid restrictions, we are not offering that option this year. However, visitors will be given a special gift bag of materials, with instructions, to take home to make an ornament to commemorate their visit. In the Deere-Wiman Carriage House, children attending can select a book from Butterworth Center & Deere-Wiman House.
Go to www.butterworthcenter.com, and on our homepage click the link to select an entry date and time. Print out your registration confirmation to present at the door when you arrive.
