Gathering of the Green-Plow City Tractor Show
This is a new attraction in addition to the regular slate of extensive themed displays. The first Plow City Show will be indoors at the Iowa Building at the Mississippi Valley Fairgrounds. A diverse selection of tractors, implements, hit and miss engines, and memorabilia will make this show a memorable one.
Named to honor the agricultural manufacturing heritage of the Quad Cities area, the Plow City Show will feature a variety of rare pieces from locally built brands like John Deere, Rock Island Plow Company, Root & Vandervoort, Heider, J.I. Case, International Harvester, and French & Hecht.
Photos and history of local companies will be featured, and comparative displays will highlight the competing tractor models for different eras. The show promises a variety of unique pieces with unique stories.
Loren Book and Mike Jahn, are contributing to collection of locally manufactured items and memorabilia from Moline Plow Co & Universal Tractor, a major company in the area with an interesting tractor not commonly seen. Check their website for some history and follow their Facebook page www.facebook.com/MolineUniversalTractors to find out more about what’s happening today with restorations and collections.
