Ride the Island

This year, River Action is thrilled to present Ride the Island, an exciting twist on Ride the River! Join us on Father’s Day for the opportunity to ride the roads and trails of the Rock Island Arsenal while exploring its rich history and visiting iconic landmarks. Enjoy a fun-filled day with live music, food trucks, and activities for all ages as we celebrate Fathers and 250 years of the United States Army.

Attn. Private Civilians: Your service has been requested for a top-secret mission called “Ride the Island.” Report to Base Camp at the Quad City Times on Sunday, June 15. Bring your bike and be prepared to engage in an intense discovery operation until 3:30 p.m. Please notify River Action if you will be in attendance on this mission by registering at riveraction.org/rti.

Helmets are REQUIRED on Arsenal Island.
Don’t have one? You can buy one for $10 from River Action.
Two repair stations will be available along the route.

Departing from the Quad City Times parking lot in Davenport, riders will cross the Government Bridge on the downstream bike trail, and enter the Davenport gate at the Arsenal. The route leads around the north and south sides of the Island. Turning right on Gillespie, riders proceed south to the Rock Island Arsenal Museum, then turn around and head north back to the bike trail. Next, taking a right on East Ave, riders proceed south to Memorial Park to enjoy food, music, and fun activities for the whole family. Riders will return to the bike path by heading north on East Ave and following the outer trail along Blundt Rd. all the way to Sylvan Drive, where they will head north on Sylvan to Rodman Ave, and head back to the QC Times parking lot. Event runs 8am-3:30pm.

Sunday, June 15 from 7:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
Same-day registration is available.
