Augustana College

Address: 639 38th Street • Rock Island, IL 61201
Augustana College is a nationally ranked, private liberal arts college known for its strong academic programs — from the sciences and pre-health programs, to music and the arts, to social sciences and the humanities. About 2,500 students from the Quad Cities, across the country and around the world attend Augustana.

Students benefit from engaged, productive relationships with professors; advising and career coaching through CORE (Careers, Opportunities, Research, Exploration); many opportunities for hands-on learning such as internships, research, study abroad, student teaching, field study and entrepreneurial projects; and a culture that maximizes student potential by balancing academics with students’ other interests.

Sophomore students and older can qualify for up to $2,000 with Augie Choice: funding to support study abroad, an internship or research with a professor. Augustana also is known for Vikings athletics, and the college is in the top 15 in the nation for number of Academic All-Americans.

Recently, the college completed updates to Bergendoff Hall, unveiled an on-campus film production studio and partnered with the city of Rock Island to construct a six-court tennis complex in Lincoln Park. Augustana's newest facility, the Peter J. Lindberg, M.D., Center for Health and Human Performance, includes innovative spaces for academic programs in kinesiology and public health, and a new aquatic center.
