Credit Island Park

This is an historic island in Davenport that is now a community park and playground. Here visitors can begin a bike outing or hiking trip on parts of the Great River Trail in Illinois and a portion of the trails that are part of a project called "River Action" in Iowa. The Quad Cities portion is called "RiverWay." On Credit Island one can ride by an Art in the Park wooden sculpture display, which is a 3-D replica of Seurat's painting entitled "A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte." It can been seen in the warmer months. Playground facilities and picnic areas are available. Visitors can sit and watch the traffic on the Mississippi River.
