MUSEUM MONTH SPECIAL: Mention Quad Cities Museum Month in the Family Museum's store The Fox & Bee to get 10% off your purchase in October of 2025.
Operate a crane, shop for groceries, sort mail, and climb into a treehouse at the fun-filled and interactive Family Museum. This hands-on museum located in Bettendorf, Iowa, is geared towards children 8 and younger and encourages families to play and learn together.
In the farm exhibit, discover how food moves from the modern farm to the local store by caring for animals, driving a combine, and moving grain.
Add obstacles or raise and lower water levels as you watch your boat make its journey down a 28-foot waterplay table resembling an actual stretch of the Mississippi River.
Chat with your neighbor or wave to the mail carrier in the town square exhibit, which includes features of everyday life.
Make alphabet soup, wash the laundry, and splash around in the virtual pond (without getting wet!) in PlayHouse.
The two-story Luckey Climber, located in the Great Hall of the Family Museum, is made up of large climbing platforms surrounded by secure, vinyl-coated cable netting. This artistically stunning structure allows Family Museum guests to climb from the first floor to the second floor while observing photographs of clouds on the platforms on the climb up and aerial photographs on the way down. The climber is designed in such a way that there is no fall greater than 18 inches making it safe for the Museum’s young demographic. While intended for young children, all ages are welcome to climb!
In addition to the hands-on exhibit area, the museum offers a private outdoor playground and waterplay area, a museum store, dance studios, an art and clay studio, and party rooms. Check our website for special events and our wide range of Drop-In programs.
The Family Museum Hours are Monday - Thursday 9 am - 6 pm; Friday - Saturday 9 am - 5 pm; Closed Sundays. For more information, visit www.familymuseum.org
