May in Motion: Quad Cities Set to Host Multiple Events, Welcoming Over 9,000 Visitors

April 30, 2026

Quad Cities, IL/IA (April 30, 2026) - The Quad Cities is in motion this May, with a packed lineup of events bringing more than 9,000 participants and attendees to the region. Collectively, these events are projected to generate $4.8 million in direct economic impact. Led by Visit Quad Cities, the month showcases the region’s ability to host a diverse portfolio of events of all sizes and types, while giving visitors a full experience of the destination and what it has to offer.

“Tourism continues to be an economic development leader and produces a positive return on investment for our region,” said Dave Herrell, President and CEO, Visit Quad Cities. “Group business is sustaining our visitor economy and programming our community with a wide array of meetings and events. This is a highly competitive space, and the more we can do to invest in meetings, conventions, and sporting events only makes us stronger and positions us effectively. We are grateful to these important clients, meeting planners, and promoters for their confidence in the Quad Cities.”

Several events will make their Quad Cities debut, including the NJCAA Division I Women’s Golf Championship at Oakwood Country Club, NIFA’s SAFECON at the Quad Cities International Airport, and Tyrant Wrestling’s U.S. National Duals at TBK Bank Sports Complex. At the same time, returning events like the NAIA Men’s Golf National Championship, hosted in the region nine times, continue to build on the Quad Cities’ strong reputation as a repeat host.

“May is shaping up to be one of the busiest and most exciting months we’ve seen for group business in the Quad Cities,” said Joan Kranovich, Vice President of Business Growth & Director, Sports QC. “We’re incredibly proud of our team’s work to help bring these events here with our venue partners and look forward to welcoming visitors.”
