Cue the Excitement: ACME ACS Midwest 8-Ball Championships Return to Quad Cities

January 17, 2024

Davenport, Iowa (Wednesday, January 17, 2024) – The ACME American CueSports (ACS) Alliance Midwest 8-Ball Championships return to the RiverCenter for an eighth consecutive year from January 17-21.

The tournament will gather over 1,000 participants across 80 tables, with another 1,000 spectators expected to attend. Open to all qualified ACS and CSS-sanctioned league members with at least 4 weeks of play since June 1, 2023, the event features various divisions of 8-Ball and 9-Ball play.

Bettendorf 16-year-old Sam Henderson is making waves in the billiards community. Recently earning a spot to represent the United States at the Predator Pro Billiard Series World Junior Championships, Henderson will be competing as an adult member of a team at the highest level of the 2024 ACME Midwest 8-Ball.

“We are thrilled to be back in the Quad Cities for the 2024 ACS Midwest 8-Ball Championships,” Janet Ybarra, ACS Executive Director said. “The ACS takes pride in hosting this 1,000+ player event with cash prizes and national entry awards totaling approximately $100,000 annually. On behalf of the ACS, I want to express our gratitude to the Quad Cities for welcoming us back and extend a special thanks to all our ACS League operators and members. Your support is essential to the success of these events.”

Dave Herrell, President and CEO of Visit Quad Cities, shares Ybarra’s enthusiasm. “We deeply appreciate the enduring partnership we share with the ACS. This championship is a testament to how sports tourism consistently generates value for the Quad Cities regional destination, positively impacting our visitor economy. We eagerly anticipate hosting competitors, the ACS, and pool enthusiasts at the RiverCenter, contributing to an enriching experience in the QC.”
