October is QC Museum Month - Marking 10 Years of Discovery

September 30, 2025

Quad Cities, IL/IA (September 30, 2025) – Visit Quad Cities is excited to announce the return of QC Museum Month, showcasing the arts, culture, history, and science that shape the region. 2025 marks the 10th year of a devoted celebration of museums and from October 1–31, residents and visitors are invited to explore 20 participating museums and historical sites across the Quad Cities.

Now in its second year as a month-long event, QC Museum Month offers an even bigger reason to get out and explore: visitors can sign up for a free mobile pass at QCMuseumMonth.com to check in at participating museums and see special offerings throughout October. Each check-in earns an entry toward one of four grand prizes that will be given away during the month.

Grand Prizes for 2025 include:

  • The Putnam Museum & Science Center: Movie Party Package, which includes general admission for 15, a three-hour room rental, documentary film admission, concession combos, and a visit from JP the Polar Bear.
  • Butterworth Center & Deere-Wiman House: Winner’s choice of a pair of tickets for the November 9th “If These Walls Could Talk” tour or a private tour for up to 10 guests.
  • German American Heritage Center & Museum: Four free admission tickets.
  • Family Museum: A one-year family membership.

This year’s QC Museum Month also welcomes two new additions: the John Deere Pavilion and the Geneseo Historical Museum. Many participating museums are offering special discounts, including reduced admission and gift shop deals, giving families and visitors even more reasons to explore.

“We are grateful to our museum partners for showcasing the stories and experiences that make the Quad Cities unique,” said Dave Herrell, President and CEO of Visit Quad Cities. “QC Museum Month reinforces our position as the Creative Capital of the Midwest. It's a destination where the arts, culture, and creativity thrive and enrich both our community and the visitor experience. Arts, culture, and particularly our local museums are valuable tourism assets, and we are honored to help lift them up through commemorating ten years of this promotion.”
