Quad Cities (July 15, 2020) – The Iowa Economic Development Authority (IEDA) has been mobilized to facilitate one of the Iowa Governor’s Economic Growth Work Groups.  These work groups are dedicated to specific areas that influence Iowa’s economy and will assist the Governor’s Economic Recovery Advisory Board, announced on June 18th, in coordinating a comprehensive recovery and growth effort.

As part of the IEDA efforts, the tourism/hospitality subgroup will be chaired by Dave Herrell, President and CEO, Visit Quad Cities.  This industry-led subgroup consists of 23 members representing travel/tourism, lodging, restaurants, bars, wineries, breweries, distilleries, and gaming.

Recommendations brought forth by this subcommittee will be shared with the Governor’s Economic Recovery Advisory Board for consideration.  Subgroup meetings have commenced, and the process is anticipated to be wrapped up by mid-September.

“I am humbled to represent the Tourism/Hospitality industry with this important economic growth initiative that Governor Reynolds has put into motion,” said Dave Herrell, President and CEO, Visit Quad Cities.  “Our industry is critical to building prosperity, improving place equity, and enhancing quality of life to create value.  Now is the time for re-invention and bold new ideas, and I look forward to continually serving alongside the incredible team of committee members that have been assembled as we focus on our charge and objectives.”
