Explore Walcott, Iowa

Despite a small population of around 1700, this Iowa town is located on busy Interstate 80 and home to the world’s largest truck stop. Iowa 80 Truckstop is an enormous complex of restaurants, shops, truck services, dentists, barbers, chiropractors, laundry, movie theater, and a huge parking lot.  The Iowa 80 Trucking Museum was a dream of Iowa 80 Truckstop founder, Bill Moon.  Bill had a passion for collecting antique trucks and other trucking memorabilia, and it’s now on display including many rare trucks as well as old petroliana. Throughout the summer, Little League and the Tri-County Men’s Fastpitch Softball League utilize Victory and Wescott Parks. Many tournaments are played in Walcott including the Iowa Area Fastpitch tournament in June.

Each summer, Walcott hosts the Walcott Trucker’s Jamboree to celebrating America's truckers. Antique trucks, super truck beauty contest, 150 exhibits, pork chop cookout, live music, and carnival games are all part of the celebration.

Try one of the eight restaurants inside the Iowa 80 Truckstop or get comfort food at Gramma’s Kitchen. Try the best-breaded tenderloin in Iowa followed by a slice of homemade pie.
