The Rock Island Arsenal Trail is a partnership between Visit Quad Cities and the Rock Island Arsenal. This self-guided experience is powered by a free mobile pass and features 13 points of interest that invite visitors and residents to explore one of the region’s most historically significant landmarks.

Using a mobile-based platform, the trail guides you through the Arsenal’s rich legacy of service, innovation, and partnership—bringing stories to life through curated content, photography, and on-site discovery. From historic sites to lesser-known points of interest, each stop offers a deeper look at the people, places, and moments that have shaped the Arsenal over generations.

Whether you’re a history enthusiast or simply looking for a new way to experience the Quad Cities, this trail is designed to connect you to a place that continues to play a vital role in our nation’s story.

Plan Your Visit

All U.S. citizens are welcome to visit Rock Island Arsenal. Simply enter through the Moline Gate off River Drive in Moline, Illinois. Hours are from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily. Visitors aged 18 and older without a Department of Defense ID must obtain a visitor pass at the Moline Gate Visitor Welcome Center. Please bring a REAL ID or two forms of government-issued identification (such as a driver’s license, passport, social security card, or vehicle registration). All visitors must undergo a standard background check for entry. Note: Foreign nationals may only access the Arsenal for official business.

Prize

Those who complete all 13 check-ins on the trail will be awarded a one-time-use $15 coupon to use at one of the following Morale Welfare and Recreation (MWR) facilities on the island: Arsenal Golf Pro Shop, Arsenal Auto Service, Arsenal Outdoor Recreation, Arsenal Leisure Travel, and the Oasis Cafe. Alcohol purchases are prohibited with this coupon. The coupon will expire 31 December 2026. Upon completion of the trail, you may pick up your earned coupon at the Golf Pro Shop at 2149 Rodman Ave. Building 60.  You'll get an email that will alert you that you've earned your coupon. 

In addition, those who have finished the trail will be automatically entered into a drawing for a $100 VISA Gift Card during the week of May 3, 2027. One random winner will be selected and notified via email.
